These are some pros and cons of the united states declaring their neutrality in WW1.

Pros:

The United States wouldn’t lose a lot of lives due to war.

They didn’t have to waste money funding the war.

The country has more time to worry about their country and their problems.  

 

Cons:

Their army doesn’t build up as much as other armies because they aren’t fighting.

They didn’t have many alliances.

They were an easy country to attack.

 

Today the US is one of the strongest nations in the country, it has definitely changed a lot since WW1. We at times have made poor decisions and it has resulted in bad things. In both world wars the United States was dragged into fighting so I don’t think that neutrality has worked for the U.S. If another war does break out I think their are many things to consider, for example if our country’s army is strong enough to go to war and many other things. I do think that we would be more prepared now because we have more alliances with more countries.
